Training to become a Holding therapist

Fundamentals

The training to become a Holding therapist using the Prekop approach is meant for those in the healing professions, psychotherapists and, in exceptional cases, other professions where the applicants have proven qualifications and/or professional experience in the field of family therapy or with the handicapped. The course is not state-approved

From the very first course in 1992 up to the 7th course in 2004-2005, the training courses have been centrally run by the GFH e.V. Annette Austermann was put in charge of training and has also had a lot to do with designing the curriculum. With increasing growth, decentralization and a simultaneously increase of the autonomy of individual training centres has been shown to be sensible - but training remains under the umbrella of the GFH e.V. and is integrated according to the fundamentals of the common curriculum.
